Donuts for Dad

On Wednesday Abigail's class had donuts for dad. Unfortunately, Josh was not able to go since he is in China. This upset Josh greatly. Thankfully Paw Paw came to Abigail's class and Abigail was so excited that she could show him her class. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives to make us feel so special. Abigail and Paw Paw painted pictures, colored, built with blocks, and played with play-doh. Thanks Paw Paw for the fun time. Sarah is pouting because she wants to stay with Paw Paw too.

Snow day

We had our first snow of the winter this weekend. Abigail was so excited. Since we had a blizzard last Christmas she kept thinking it was suppose to snow on Christmas. When it didn't snow she was a little disappointed and wanted to know when it would snow. Thankfully Daddy was home to take the girls out to play in the snow. I am not a huge fan of being cold or wet. They played outside for awhile so I was surprised how long Sarah stayed out. She tends to take after her Mommy when it comes to the temperature outside. After they played in the snow we had homemade hot chocolate and we built things out of toothpicks and marshmallows. Abigail thinks we always do this project when it snows because we did it with her when she was younger. Now when there is snow in the forecast I have to make sure we have marshmallows and toothpicks. Abigail built big structures and was pretty good at figuring out how to keep them upright. Sarah ate a lot of marshmallows and would destroy what everyone built. It was a fun family night. Posing for a picture before she calculates how to get Daddy.

Multiple Personalities??

Over the last week Sarah has brought out different personalities. She usually insists on being called Sophia. Sophia is a baby, therefore Sarah acts like a baby. She will also call herself Mama Baby. We are not quite sure who Mama Baby is but she is usually angry and throws a lot of fits. This weekend she has been Sophia almost constantly and will get very angry if you don't call her that. She even woke up this morning and crawled into our room as Sophia. I guess this is just like having an imaginary friend except you become the friend. I also know it is common for her age to act like a baby, but Josh doesn't like this new development. I wonder how long this phase will
last?

30 weeks

I am 30 weeks today. The baby is feeling more and more crowded, in fact, the other morning I woke up with sore ribs. I definetly notice a lot more movement at night when I finally sit down. I was resting next to Sarah today and the baby was moving a lot so she got to feel it kick and she thought that was really funny. I don't have a feeling one way or the other about what the gender is, and surprisingly the curosity isn't killing me. We moved the guest bed over to my parents this weekend so now the crib and dresser are the only things left in the room. It made me realize that when Josh gets back from China we will need to go through the attic and see what we have to know what we still need. It is hard to believe that there are only 10 weeks or less until we meet the newest member of our family.

Dates with the girls

Josh and I have decided to try to take the girls out by themselves once a month. So I decided to take Sarah to have her nails done. I offered to take her to lunch but she turned me down for PB&J at home. After we got her nails done we went a got a cookie which she enjoyed as well. Really there is no need to take Sarah anywhere she just enjoys being alone with us. But she did have a lot of fun getting her nails painted. She even got a flower on two of her nails and she just kept staring at them throughout the day.

Josh took Abigail to see the movie Tangled. Abigail was excited to get to play some arcade games after the movie. Josh then took her to the river where they spotted a bald eagle. Josh was a little more excited about that than Abigail was. Both the girls had a good time on their date and I hope we will continue to make good memories together.

Grandma Denton comes to town

Grandma Denton came into town on Christmas night. The girls were anticipating her arrival. My mom asked Abigail who is coming tonight (meaning Santa) and Abigail responded by saying Grandma Denton. We went to Starbucks everyday and Sarah went to her first movie while Grandma was here. We saw Tangled and Sarah actually sat through almost the entire movie, which she never does at home but I guess a big tub of popcorn helps. I know the girls are counting down the days until Grandma comes back to visit.

One of Abigail's favorite traditions is to wake up in the morning and go into Grandma's room and snuggle with Grandma. Sarah and Katie joined them on this morning.

Grandma and Aunt Kim helped the girls make a gingerbread house. The girls always look forward to crafts that Grandma does with them.

Aunt Kim helping Sarah, but I think all of Sarah's candy was going into her tummy instead of on the house.

Abigail and Grandma stop working to get their picture taken.

Sarah having fun painting the house with icing.

The final product...the girls seem to be a little wired. I wonder how much candy made it onto the house.

Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas and were able to spend a lot of time with family. The girls were both so excited for Christmas as the days approached it became harder and harder for them to wait. It was so much fun to watch them get so excited. They both really showed so much patience and generosity. Josh took off a lot of time and we enjoyed having him around without work or school. We feel so blessed and thankful this Christmas. I treasure Christmas time with the girls because I know they will grow up all too fast, and Christmas through their eyes is so much fun.
The first gift they opened on Christmas Eve was a treasure hunt that led them to a big doll house(I mean a huge doll house) that they loved. Both of the girls had just as much fun on the treasure hunt. When Abigail got the first clue her eyes got so wide with excitement revealing how much she loves treasure hunts. Sarah had fun following Abigail around and between each clue she would say "this is so much fun A-b-gail"
Here the girls having fun putting all the furniture in the house. Sarah did not care where the furniture went and Abigail wanted to color cordinate everything.

Sarah with her callico critters that she really enjoyed. They unfortunately came with the smallest pacifier and bottle ever and I was unable to hide them before she spotted them. There will defintely need to be more child proofing before the next baby starts crawling. But then again, the girl's cousin Katie will be here this week so those small pieces will definitely need a hiding place.
